A public sculpture designed by Anish Kapoor, an Indian-born British artist, Cloud Gate is famous as "The Bean". Situated in the heart of AT&T Plaza, the sculpture is located atop Park Grill, between McCormick Tribune Plaza & Ice Rink and Chase Promenade. Constructed of about 168 stainless steel plates, Cloud Gate is flawlessly polished with no seams visible on the exterior. Measuring 33X66X42 feet, the bean weighs about 100 tons. Inspired by liquid mercury, the sculpture's shiny surface reflects skyline of the Chicago city. Visitors can take a walk around or under the Cloud Gate's giant arch that measures around 12 foot. A conclave chamber underneath multiplies and wraps all the reflections. Cloud Gate is extremely popular among tourists, as it emerges as a unique picture taking spot.
