Lincoln Park Zoo - Highlights
Certain native Midwestern wildlife species are kept within Pritzker Family Children's Zoo. While rat snakes and American kestrels reside indoors, beavers, red wolves, and black bears remain within the outdoor exhibits. Children as well as adults get so excited to see a large Regenstein Center for African Apes, which is known as the home of Keo, one of the oldest male chimpanzees of North America. The Children's Zoo is also home to a unique indoor climbing game for children. In addition to a large pool of animals, the zoo is famous for its Burr Oak tree, which dates back to the 1800s. You can also visit a large farm, built exclusively by John Deere. Known as Farm-in-the-Zoo, the place is home to cows, pet goats, pigs, horses, and dogs. Tourists are allowed to feed cows and roam freely in the vegetable gardens. The farm also organizes a small educational talk on farm life while the cows are milked in the public.
